About the project

Custom website for a reference restaurant: menu, wine cellar, reservations and editable CMS. 100% original design, bilingual, on a par with the best hospitality websites.

A website for a contemporary Valencian cuisine restaurant in the very heart of Valladolid. We worked with Benji and his team hand in hand: they sent us dish photos, wine cellar copy, allergens, opening hours, venue and team photos, and we built the site with the same care as a dish. No template, no theme, no WordPress: every page, every colour, every detail is designed to convey the calm and craft of the dining room.

The result is a bilingual Spanish/English website, with a browsable menu and wine cellar, gallery of the venue and the dishes, online reservations and a custom-built CMS so the team can edit everything (menu, wine cellar, signature dishes, opening hours, venue info) from JSON files, without touching HTML and without calling anyone. Local SEO done right so that when someone searches for paella in Valladolid, Valencian cuisine or an authentic restaurant in the centre, the restaurant is in the best technical conditions to show up. And first-class performance: loads in under 1 second, 0 JS by default, Core Web Vitals 95+ across the board.

The website is live and the team already edits the menu, wine cellar and other content from the custom JSON-driven CMS, without touching code.

Key highlights

Custom JSON CMS, no code required

The team edits the menu, wine cellar, signature dishes, opening hours and venue information from structured JSON files. No visual panel, no WordPress: simple files the site reads on every build. Result: zero external maintenance, no forgotten passwords, and the team owns their content 100%.

Built with Astro, fast by design

Astro and TypeScript from scratch, no themes or visual builders. Loads in under 1 second, 0 JS by default on most pages, Core Web Vitals 95+ across the board. The site looks perfect on phone, tablet and desktop.

Local SEO done right

Schema.org, llms.txt, meta tags and content optimised so that when someone searches for paella in Valladolid, Valencian cuisine or restaurants near the Plaza Mayor, the restaurant is in the best technical conditions to show up.

Custom CMS I built for them

Editable menu

Starters, paellas, mains, desserts and tasting menu. Each dish has a name, description, price, allergens, portion note and a "signature" flag to highlight the chef favourites. All in JSON, all editable.

Editable wine cellar

Wines grouped by type (red, white, rosé, cava, etc.) with grapes, vintage, tasting notes, pairing and availability. The team adds, removes or marks "out of stock" without touching HTML.

Featured dishes on the home page

The 6 dishes shown on the home page (paella valenciana, arroz negro, arroz a banda, etc.) are picked and ordered from a JSON. The team changes "what we are serving right now" in the dining room without calling anyone.

Opening hours and venue info

Address, phone, email, opening hours per day of the week and maintenance message. Updated from a single file, no complicated redeploys.

Mirrored bilingual

Each piece of content has its Spanish and English version in parallel files. The team can maintain both languages at once, knowing that if they add a dish in Spanish, they only need to add it in the English JSON to keep parity.

Gallery with filters

Photos of the venue, the team and the dishes are grouped by category. The team adds images and tags them from JSON; the site reorganises itself automatically.
